RHEUMATOLOGY

We are specialists treating medical disorders of patients with musculoskeletal and connective tissue problems. Our job is to treat everyone with rheumatic disease effectively and with an appropriate treatment for each patient.  

We also seek  to prevent and diagnose these diseases in time so that our patients can attack the problem before further complications arrive, since it is a specialty that has experienced the most advances in diagnoses and treatments in recent years.  

Musculoskeletal diseases affect bones, muscles and joints, as well as the tissues that surround them, and can cause pain, inflammation, stiffness, limitation of movement and deformity. On the other hand, systemic autoimmune diseases, such as lupus,  the syndrome  If scleroderma or  Dermatomyositis can affect any organ in the body, such as the kidneys, lungs, skin, heart, or brain.

Rheumatoid arthritis

It is a chronic and autoimmune disease, meaning that the body's immune system attacks its own healthy cells and tissues. Although its exact cause is unknown, researchers believe that several factors, including heredity, may contribute to its occurrence.
It is characterized by pain, stiffness, synovitis of the joints, generally peripheral and symmetrical, capable of causing the destruction of articular cartilage and bone deformities.
It affects around 1% of the population, it can occur at any age, although its maximum incidence is between 40 and 60 years. It predominates in women in a ratio of 3: 1 in relation to men.
